The journey from high school to college.
Step by Step.

I get it.
As a parent, one day you are waving goodbye as your child begins elementary school; it seems like only a short time later college information is flooding your mailbox and your inbox.
Navigating the transition from high school to college can be both exciting and challenging for students and parents. With thousands of colleges in the United States and others around the globe, the opportunities can be overwhelming.
I can help..
By working with students and their families over several years, I understand and value each teenager’s experience and help identify appropriate colleges that meet their academic, social, and financial priorities. I believe that students thrive when they are encouraged to authentically pursue their interests which in turn leads to the strongest college applications.
Applying to college is one (important) part of a teenager's high school experience, but it doesn't define WHO they are.
My Counseling Process
MEET STUDENTS WHERE THEY ARE
I work with students across all stages of readiness—some know exactly what they want, others are still figuring it out. I adapt to their pace, not the other way around.
PARTNER WITH FAMILIES
College planning affects the whole household. I work with parents and students together, so everyone's on the same page and pulling in the same direction.
Many families find that the unexpected value I bring is the ability to take the college application process away from the dinner table
BUILD SELF-AWARENESS
The best college decisions come from knowing yourself—your strengths, values, and what you actually want from college. I help students learn about themselves before applications ever enter the picture.
FOSTER INDEPENDENCE
From the first meeting to the last, my goal is for students to own their college search and applications. It’s their process, but I’m all in on their team.
CREATE CLARITY
The college process can feel chaotic. It changes regularly. I bring deep knowledge of the higher education landscape, structure, realistic timelines, and steady guidance so families can actually enjoy this chapter rather than dread it.
“The questions that Whitney asks you, the connections she provides, the relationship you build ... it puts you on a path greater than the college search.”
